As a barrister and part-time lecturer at the law faculty of two universities, Alex FAN Hoi-kit strongly believes in the rule of law and justice, Hong Kong's core values. However his convictions extend far beyond his formal professional duties. They are also at the heart of his personal convictions as well, which he manifests by providing legal counsel to several community service organisations.
While Alex was still a university undergraduate seven years ago, he established the "Hong Kong Young Leaders Development Association", which focuses on the training of local young leaders. Alex's motto is "youth serving youth" and through the Association, many young participants have gone on to serve as community organisers.
Alex's contributions to the community and social justice have already met with public acclaim and accolades. He has been the recipient of such awards as the "Hong Kong Outstanding Youth Volunteer", "Top 10 Outstanding Student" and the "Outstanding Service Award for Tertiary Student".
By advocating for and training "youth serving youth", Alex FAN is encouraging and enabling a new generation to take up the mantle of responsibility to build Hong Kong for the future.
